Jewellery for men: where to start

About half of our pieces are made for men: rings, chains, pendants and bracelets, almost all of them in stainless steel. If you are new to wearing jewellery, start with one piece you wear every day.

Rings

A plain band or a signet ring goes with everything. Men’s bands are usually 6 to 8 mm wide. A wider band sits tighter, so for 6 mm and more go one size up from your measurement.

Our men’s rings go up to size 70 (US 13), and some to 75 (US 15). Our guide to finding your ring size shows how to measure.

A signet ring has a flat top: plain, set with a stone or carved with a pattern. It is traditionally worn on the little finger.

Chains and pendants

A chain on its own sits well at 50 to 55 cm. With a pendant, 55 to 60 cm lets it hang mid chest. Curb, box and rope chains of 3 mm and more look solid; our heaviest curb chains are 6 and 8 mm wide.

Many of our pendants carry Norse symbols, each with its own story: Mjölnir, the Vegvísir and runes.

Bracelets

Leather and cord bracelets are casual and easy to wear. Steel chain bracelets and cuffs look sharper and stand up to more.

To find your size, measure around the wrist just below the wrist bone and add about 1.5 cm for a close fit, or 2.5 cm for a looser one. Many of our chain bracelets come in several wrist sizes.

Which metal

For pieces worn every day, stainless steel is the practical choice: it is hard, it does not tarnish, and water and sweat do not harm it. There is more in Stainless steel or sterling silver.

Wearing more than one

A ring and a bracelet on the same hand, or a pendant with a plain chain above it, work well together. Keep to one metal colour and let one piece stand out.
