Details
In Norse myth, Fenrir was a monstrous wolf, a son of Loki and the giantess Angrboða. Fearing his strength, the gods bound him with a magic fetter. Only the god Týr dared to place his hand in the wolf’s mouth as a pledge, and when Fenrir found himself trapped he bit it off. The myths foretold that at Ragnarök Fenrir would break free and swallow Odin, and that Odin’s son Víðarr would avenge him.
