Triple moon necklace

The triple moon, a full moon between a waxing and a waning crescent, is a modern pagan emblem of the Triple Goddess as maiden, mother and crone. That threefold goddess took its modern form in Robert Graves’s book The White Goddess of 1948 and was taken up in Wicca. Ancient religion did know groups of three goddesses, and the 3rd-century writer Porphyry linked Hecate’s three forms with phases of the moon.
